DICTYOPTERA

This little guy is only about 3/4" (2 cm) long and live in fairly dry leaf residue in flower beds. I find them in flower boxes and around Sago Palms in the Houston, Harris County, Texas area. They don't go into homes nor are they pests. They scurry like crazy when you dig into the ground where they are, to get away from you. They will run up leaves and stems. If you water, they will also crawl out and run to get out of the water. I don't you can train them to do tricks however. If you know this species, please go to the contact page and contact Terry Proctor, J.D., the Curator of the PMNS. Thank you.
